Chakkarai Pongal

INGREDIENTS:

Ingredients…. Raw rice or basumathi rice 1 cup  Jaggery 2 cups
Cashew 10  raisains 15
Cardamom  & Ghee

 

METHOD: PREPARATION TIME : 25 MINUTES

Wash rice and pressure cook it for three whistle… Take jaggery and pour 1/4 cup of water and boil to get thread like consistency. Now mash the cooked rice and add to the jaggery and mix well and cook for 5 minutes and switch off the flame. Now take little ghee and fry cashew and raisins separately and add to the pongal with a pinch of cardamom… you will get easy Chakkarai pongal……..

Tips;

If you don’t get good jaggery, with help of  strainer, strain the jaggery water and then use.
